mrs. jones and the raven

by tobias crabtree

the raven is a song bird.

i heard someone say, sarcastically, “what kind of song does a raven sing?”

and to myself i thought, my kind.

the raven doesn’t worry about judgements concerning the quality of it’s croaking song.

he sings.

painters are singers, the sounds and melodies are hues and contrasts.

i have had people tell me they couldn’t draw a stick figure,

but that is never true.

stick figures are great and need to be drawn.

mrs. jones paints the stones and you should hear them sing.
